Celebrating the Spirit of Dussehra: The Triumph of Goodness and Truth

Dear Students, Parents, and Staff,

As our campus recently came alive with the vibrant colors and traditions of the season, we now look forward to celebrating the auspicious festival of Dussehra (Vijayadashami).

Dussehra is much more than a festive holiday; it is a profound cultural milestone that carries timeless life lessons for our entire school community. At its core, the festival commemorates the ultimate victory of good over evil, light over darkness, and truth over falsehood.

As we educate and nurture the next generation, Dussehra offers a beautiful opportunity to reflect on these core values:

• The Triumph of Righteousness: Just as the epic tales of Dussehra teach us, standing up for what is right—even when it is difficult—is a virtue we strive to instill in every student.
• Conquering Inner Negativity: The defeat of Ravana is also symbolic of conquering our own inner shortcomings, such as anger, ego, greed, and laziness. It is a reminder to constantly strive to be better versions of ourselves.
• The Power of Truth and Integrity: The festival reinforces the belief that honesty and integrity will always lead to ultimate success and peace.
• Respect and Devotion: The traditions we observe, from special assemblies to cultural performances, teach our youth the importance of honoring our shared heritage and respecting one another.

We encourage our students to apply the spirit of Dussehra in their daily lives—to champion kindness in the hallways, to approach their studies with dedication, and to always choose the path of integrity.

Wishing you and your families a joyous, prosperous, and meaningful Dussehra!

Warm regards,

Vidya Jyoti School Family
